To Contact the BOK Ranch Volunteer Coordinator Directly: Elizabeth Campi (650) 283-2519
Working side by side with B.O.K Ranchs certified instructors and horses are over 100 program volunteers. The B.O.K. Ranch staff and volunteers work together to form a vital team that is essential to the success of our riders. Without the help of volunteers, there would be no program; we greatly appreciate the help of our dedicated and caring volunteers.
Volunteers assist with grooming, tacking, preparing students and horses for lessons, and general stable management. During lessons, horse handlers, sidewalkers and spotters are needed.
Prospective volunteers need not have experience with horses or experience with those with special needs. Volunteer trainings are held to orientate new volunteers and to provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary.
Our volunteers vary in age from pre-teens to senior citizens. While official volunteer status cannot be acquired until the age of fourteen, twelve and thirteen year old "Jr. Volunteers" are welcome as long as a parent or guardian volunteers with them. Junior Volunteers perform extra jobs, but are not able to handle the horses or act as sidewalkers in the lessons until they turn fourteen.
Because volunteers play such a vital role during lessons, we ask that volunteers commit to one morning or afternoon of classes.
If you would like to volunteer please print out our Volunteer Forms, fill them out, and mail them to our office. Also, print out our Volunteer Handbook. Also, because B.O.K. is a weather permitting program, please familiarize yourself with our cancellation policy.
Volunteers are needed for the following times! Sunday: 8:30 am - 12:00 noon Monday: 2:30 pm - 5:30pm Tuesday: 2:30 pm - 5:30pm Wednesday: 2:30 pm - 5:30pm Thursday: 2:30 pm - 5:30pm Friday: 2:30 pm - 5:30pm Saturday: 9:30am - 1:00 pm
