Equine Assisted Activities

Therapeutic horseback riding allows students with physical, cognitive, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities to develop physical strength, balance, control, self-confidence, and self-esteem. At B.O.K. Ranch, students focus not on a limitation, but on an ability. They interact with our wonderful horses, staff, and volunteers, and the results are extraordinary.

B.O.K. Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area.  Our facility includes large all weather outdoor arenas, turnout pastures, a cross country course, and access to miles of trails.  We have been accredited since 1985 by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), and all of our instructors are PATH certified.  We maintain our status as a PATH Premier Accredited Center, meaning we meet the highest standards for health and safety to promote the well-being of all our participants and horses.

"A dog looks up to a man, a cat looks down on a man, but a

patient horse looks a man in the eye and sees him as an equal."
